Page knocking
Saturday, December 4th, 2004 at 10:40 amA random thought while I was working on the messages page. Wouldn’t it be cool if I could reveal more things on my website depending on how often someone visits it, sort-of like the way you can talk to a character more than once in an RPG and they’ll reveal more information.
I could develop a points system for the IP addresses (problem with dynamic ip though) where I give an IP address points for visiting (extra points for visiting between 12pm and 6am)
If someone visits too much I should put up a warning notice “WARNING: You have become addicted to visiting this site. Please talk to your nearest emacs psychiatrist to discuss why you are obsessed with Gemma’s site”
I was talking to Neil on IRC earlier about running Apache in 16MB of swap space.
Me: will it run? Neil: would run like dog, dead dog, up hill, with one leg, carrying backpack full of bricks. Neil: but it would run
Neil is nice, if a bit of a Linux nut. He even has a tattoo of Tux on his shoulder.
