Oh no! my bank account is looking bad. All the money that I managed to save from my placement year wages has being eaten away by the cost of my lovely broadband. I guess I’m going to have to get a job soon. Plus, my final exam is next week (and on the same day that Star Wars starts showing, grrr) so I will have nothing to do then.
I’m not sure what I really want to do. I don’t think I want to be a programmer for a living, my industrial placement made me realise how much I value coding as a hobby, programming for a living takes the fun out of it of course if something that looked interesting came along I’d probably reconsider. Then there is the horrible IP clauses that companies get you to agree to which basically say “all your code are belong to us” not good if you’re planning to release any software that you writtten outside of work. Although programming is my best skill, on two of my programming modules I got over 90%.
Might look into geting some proper Linux qualifications on my CV.
Talking with the Termisoc guys today it’s a relief to find out that I am not the only one to sometimes end sentences with semi-colons instead of full stops. Too much C++/PHP/Perl for me.
