Reversible belt pouch

After cutting up several pairs of old jeans which had holes in them I decided to make something out of them. This is the result.

Start by creating a template for the sides. I used a rectangle approximately 11 cm wide and 14 cm high. I rounded off the bottom two corners.

The pieces needed are:

For the flap take one template of each colour and place front sides together stitch a 1cm seam leaving the straight edge open.

For the belt loops turn the edges under and sew to hold in place. Attach near the straight edge on the face side of the appropriately coloured template piece.

For both colours sew two sides and an edge strip together, face sides inwards. This should create two bags in different colours.

Turn one bag the right way in. Put it inside the other bag so that the loops on both bags are facing each other.

Sew a line of stitching around the sides and front leaving a gap on the edge where the loops are.

Turn the whole thing inside out using the hole near the loops.

Stitch around the front and sides to make a channel for the elastic. Thread the elastic through.

Insert the flap in the gap, fold in the edges of the e back panels and stitch all layers together.
