Real motorbike officially mine
Saturday, June 30th, 2007I officially own a real motorbike now, a 600cc Yamaha Diversion that was previously my dad’s. It has already got a name, it’s called “Phoenix” because it caught on fire once.
The bad news is Wasi (my scooter) is gone now, I decided to traded in on my dad’s new bike in return for a discount [...]
Motorcycle test
Wednesday, September 6th, 2006During the past 5 days I have been training with the people at Surepass for my motorcycle practical test.
The first three days were spent on 125cc motorcycles. I was used to riding Wasi and took to most of the riding easily. I had a bit of trouble with U-turns, emergency stops and observations when changing [...]
Motorcycle Theory Test
Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006I passed.
I got 34/35 (Pass is >=30) on the multiple-choice questions and 57/75 (pass is >=45) for the hazard perception.
There are two basic rules for hazards when you are riding a motorcycle: 1) If it moves it’s a hazard 2) If it doesn’t move it’s a hazard.
My younger sister said that she knew I would [...]
Why do I need to know this?

A) They use diesel power
B) They use electric power
C) They use quieter roads
D) They do not operate during rush hour”
This question in no way tests my knowledge of the highway code, safety procedures or anything else that [...]
Enjoying the sunshine
Friday, June 16th, 2006I have a couple of personal projects on the go, one of them is a Google maps style AJAX map and the other is a blog about letterboxing written on Pivot which I’m not sure whether it’s going to go live or whether I just keep it on my local network as a record of [...]
Scooter Model Progress
Thursday, December 29th, 2005Here are the latest renders of the model of my scooter.
I am fairly pleased with how it is going. The most tricky bit so far has been the curved bit behind the seat I re-started that one from scratch once because I wasn’t happy with the way that the polygons were going. The pictures in [...]
The Yellow Peril
Wednesday, December 28th, 2005Here’s a picture of me on the bike that my dad’s been fixing up. My family took the bike out to a private (and very pot-holey) road on Dartmoor. I’m trying to get used to using a bike with gears (my scooter’s an automatic) so maybe I can get a full motorbike license.
Modelling my scooter
Tuesday, December 27th, 2005I’ve decided to try and model my scooter using Blender. The picture below is part of what I’ve got already, the left handlebar grip. I’ve also done some of the wheel and the seat.
The basic shape is a cylinder which was subsurfed and extruded to make the basic shape, the texture for the grip was [...]
